Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
